Generally, you cannot predict what Google will announce about new version of Android. Last time it was happened when Google had announced Android 4.4 KitKat. Everybody was waiting to hear about Android 5.0. But instead of announcing v5.0, Google announced Android 4.4. However, Google also informed that something bigger would be happened in Android 5.0. But announcing Android 5.0 didn’t look surprising. Google announced about it during their I/O conference. Even the web-giant also informed about every change that they made in new version. But it didn’t inform about the name of the new version of Android. At last, on 16th October, Google gave us the name too. And the name was Lollipop! By announcing KitKat, Google continued expressing its ‘soft corner’ about chocolate things by naming the new Android version with Lollipop. I think, Android chief loves chocolate and has addiction about those childish foods.
Anyway, Google’s next Nexus smartphone and tablet, Nexus 6 & HTC Nexus 9, will be the first 2 devices to get Lollipop. As well as Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Google Play Edition devices will be among first few smartphones and tablets to get the v5.0 within few weeks. Nexus 6 is seen as the most expensive Android samrtphone among Nexus series’. The biggest display and 64 bit processor have been included in HTC Nexus 9 tablet.
Biggest Changes in Android 5.0 Lollipop
In Lollipop, biggest changes will be occurred in its visual design that is named ‘Material Design’ by Google. Animation will become more beautiful and multitasking will be much easier. Google wants its users to always enjoy the same user-interface and design in any kinds of Android devices, such as: smartphones, tablets, phablets, etc. So you will get the same design experience in any kind of Android devices. And the idea influences also in designing Google’s official Android apps. In new edition, voice integration will attract you. Google says Lollipop will be much skilled to handle voice commands. Developers are offered 5000 new APIs. And definitely, users are going to be benefited. You can synchronize picture, music, apps, search items, etc in different types of devices. The last song you heard in your tablet will be available in your phone’s play list.
Google Android 5 Lollipop – faster, prettier and better battery life –The Guardian
Android 5.0 Lollipop has ‘Notification Control’ that can control the quantity of incoming notifications that you want to get while you’re in different meetings. So you’ll be able to filter notifications. It also has battery saver mode, it lets you manage more than one user accounts and it offers guest user mode too. It provides safer, secured and trusted Bluetooth connection to transfer files between devices. It contains stricter security protection to reset phone. Because of that, it will be almost impossible to break the security of stolen device for thieves. However, most of those features have already been included in several Android devices by manufacturers. But now those are default features and can be enjoyed by every Android 5.0 user.
Since 2011, no major upgrade in design and user-interface category was made in any Android version but in Lollipop. Last time Sandwich had made a huge change in design of Android devices. However, few changes were also made in KitKat, it was not major one though. The Guardian says, it will be ‘faster, prettier’ and it has ‘better battery life’. So what do you think about this new version of Android?
