The Microsoft Lumia fans of Bangladesh congregated on an effort to take world’s largest ever selfie with the Microsoft Lumia 730 in front of Bashundhara Shopping Mall, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Microsoft Lumia Bangladesh’s Facebook page claimed that there were 1,151 people at this gigantic selfie-taking event and it was the world’s largest seflie so far. However, the Guinness World Records hasn’t yet affirmed whether it is, in fact, the world’s largest selfie. According to local newspaper Dhaka Tribune’s report, Microsoft was said to be waiting for an official confirmation from Guinness to enter the book of records.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

It seems that Microsoft is intensively campaigning to make its recent attempt to spread Microsoft Lumia devices in developing countries successful. Earlier, it seemed that Microsoft was eying to manufacture low-end smartphones for developing countries. Its recent attempt to capture world’s largest selfie in Bangladesh is nothing but a part of its product-campaigning. And there’s obviously no doubt that the event received the highest attention of local social media users. Even this event was announced and campaigned in Microsoft Bangladesh’s local Facebook page only! People spontaneously attended the event. Local popular musician Rafa and models were present at the event. And it was very successful indeed.
